The Pantheons of Performance (2026) explores the processes through which performance art is documented, translated and reactivated through images and other material traces. Taking as a starting point photographs, publications, archives and other forms of documentation, the project emerges from a dialogue between Garrido’s ongoing artistic research into the systems that shape the circulation, interpretation and value of art, and curator Fabiola Iza’s investigations into performance archives and art historical narratives.

The project brings together new iterations of existing series alongside newly produced works that examine processes of translation between media and the unstable status of documentation: from performance to photography, from photography to drawing or painting, and from archival material back into the exhibition space.

The Pantheons of Performance materializes through Coloreadas —a series of hand-painted interventions on photographic documentation of historical performances—; Déjà-vu —anamorphic reconstructions of past performances in the spaces where they originally took place—; and Out of Actions (2026), a video and archival display investigating the drawings produced for the Mexican edition of Out of Actions: Between Performance and the Object, 1949–1979, published by Alias Editorial, amongst other works.
