The Inheritance (an Artist’s Studio) recreates the floor of a
basement on Manuel Silvela Street in Madrid, purchased by my father
after receiving an inheritance in 2007, with the purpose of me using it
as a studio while I was studying Fine Arts. This space became my refuge
and workshop during the first 16 years of my career. The piece was first
presented in my solo exhibition The Origin of Forms (Museo Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo, 2023) and reflects the importance of family support in developing an artistic vocation.

More Info
The Inheritance (an Artist’s Studio) is a recreation of the floor of a basement located at 3 Manuel Silvela Street, in the Chamberí neighborhood of Madrid. This space was purchased by my father in 2007, after receiving a family inheritance, with the intention that I use it as an artist’s studio while I was studying Fine Arts. This place became a refuge and the space where I developed my work during the first 16 years of my career, from 2007 to 2023.
The piece was first presented in my solo exhibition The Origin of Forms, at the Museo Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo (Móstoles, 2023). Through it, the importance of both material and emotional support – particularly the encouragement and backing of parents – becomes clear as essential to developing an artistic vocation and ensuring its continuity over time, seeking to narrate this experience from an intimate and personal perspective.
